Data Description

The SMAMC event is utilized to monitor the AMC (Application Messaging Channel) recipients table. This table contains vital information regarding all ABAP messaging channels for which AMC consumers are registered within the system.

Potential Use Cases

This event can be leveraged for various scenarios, including:

  • Monitoring the number of active receivers per channel

  • Alerting on stale or long-running sessions

  • Tracking which users are actively subscribed to channels

  • Observing trends in channel subscriptions over time

Metric Configuration

To maintain the SMAMC metric configuration, use the following menu option: (Administrator -> Setup Metric -> Metric Configuration)

By default, the extraction process includes tokens managed by the local token manager system. To expand the extraction to all token managers ( local as well as remote ) available in the landscape, set the ALL_TOKEN_MANAGERS parameter to value 'X'.

Navigate to system-wide AMC recipients list.

The data visible on-screen will correspond to the data extracted and forwarded to Splunk.
