SMCL
Data Description
The SMCL event is utilized to monitor the Cross-System Lock (CSL) mechanism. It provides insights into the status of tokens managed by the token manager in both local and remote logical systems.
Potential Use Cases
This event can be leveraged for various scenarios, including:
Monitoring status of tokens within the token manager
Alert on long-pending cross-system locks that have not been released
Identifying token locations or movements
Tracking lock patterns over time
Metric Configuration
To maintain the SMCL metric configuration, use the following menu option: (Administrator -> Setup Metric -> Metric Configuration)
By default, the extraction process only includes tokens managed by the local token manager. To include tokens from all token managers, both local and remote, set the parameter ALL_TOKEN_MANAGERS to 'X'.
SAP Navigation
To access this data in SAP, use transaction code SMCL.
The local token manager system and its number are pre-filled by default. Simply execute to view the tokens.
The data visible on-screen will correspond to the data extracted and forwarded to Splunk.
