Data Description

The MSS_DB02_LRGTAB event is used in SAP to identify the largest tables in the MS SQL database.

Potential Use Cases

This event could be used in the following scenarios:

  • Visualize the growth of large tables over time.

  • Identify top candidates for archiving.

Metric Configuration

The MSS_DB02_LRGTAB metric has a configuration based on which the number of largest tables to read is controlled. To maintain the configuration, follow the below steps:

  • Maintain the MSS_DB02_LRGTAB metric configuration using the menu option below (Administrator->Setup Metric->Metric Configuration)

SAP Navigation

Execute the DBACOCKPIT transaction in the SAP ECC system. Open the Space folder and double-click on “Large Tables”. Fill out the desired selection criteria (Top tables value which corresponds to the metric filter value). The data at the bottom right of the screen will match the data that is extracted and sent to Splunk.
