Prerequisites for a PowerConnect Project

General PowerConnect Project Prerequisites

• Please share the SAP System SID and the installation numbers of any systems where the PowerConnect installation will take place with the PowerConnect team.

• Please share the name and email address of the individual responsible for signing the End User License Agreement with the PowerConnect team.

• Please share the name and email address of the technical lead which will be responsible for the installation of the PowerConnect application (SAP component) with the PowerConnect team.

PowerConnect Project Prerequisites (Splunk)

• Review the documentation provided in the Splunk Setup and Configuration Guide.

• Complete the steps outlined in Install Splunk.

• Complete the steps outlined in Create a Splunk Index for SAP data.

• Complete the steps outlined in Create an HTTP Event Collector (HEC).

• If using SSL, complete the steps outlined in Configure SSL

• Complete the steps outlined in Create a Splunk role.

• Complete the steps outlined in Create an access user in Splunk.

PowerConnect Project Prerequisites (Dynatrace)

• Review the documentation provided in the Dynatrace extension section

• Review the documentation provided in the Dynatrace dashboard guide

PowerConnect Installation Project Prerequisites (ABAP)

• Review the documentation in the PowerConnect ABAP Installation Guide.

• If using RISE with SAP, SAP will need to conduct the SAINT installation and upload the authorization object transport on the customer behalf. Please submit a support ticket to SAP asking them to conduct the SAINT installation and upload the provided authorization object transport.

• Upload all transports and packages documented in the PowerConnect ABAP Installation Guide once the software packages have been provided by the PowerConnect team.

• Complete the steps outlined in Upload the PowerConnect Roles, once the roles and authorization objects have been provided by the PowerConnect team.

• Complete the steps outlined in Assign PowerConnect Roles to Users, once the roles and authorization objects have been provided by the PowerConnect team.

• If using SSL on please complete the steps outlined in the SSL ABAP Setup Guide by leveraging input from your Dynatrace/Splunk administrator, who will be completing the steps outlined in the respective section above.

PowerConnect Installation Project Prerequisites (Java)

• Review the documentation provided in the PowerConnect Java Installation Guide

• Upload all packages documented in the PowerConect Java Installation Guide once the software packages have been provided by the PowerConnect team.

PowerConnect Installation Project Prerequisites (Cloud)

• Review the documentation provided in the PowerConnect Cloud Installation Guide

• Upload all packages documented in the PowerConect Cloud Installation Guide once the software packages have been provided by the PowerConnect team.
