KB 79 (Java): UI ws_policy After Upgrade

Description

In some cases, the following error may occur after the upgrade of PowerConnect (The below two screenshots show the error in Netweaver 7.40 and 7.50) In both cases the logs indicate an error relating to the ws_policy.

com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Exception was thrown in preprocessing phase of application session….. 

Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.exception.WSModelRuntimeException: …….. ……. application name 'com.powerconnect5/spcj_wd'. Check mass configuration has been done properly. 

Caused by: com.sap.esi.esp.service.server.query.discovery.ExtendedServiceException: Cannot load WSDL: http://<host>:<port>/sap_powerconnect_java/JMXService?wsdl=binding&mode=ws_policy. 

Resolution

Go to http://<host>:<port>/nwa → SOA Tab → Application Communication

Select the POWERCONNECT-JAVA line 

Select PowerConnectSG under “Consumed Service Groups” 

Select “Edit”

In the “Provider System” column change <local system> to <none>

Save Change

Edit line again

In the “Provider System” column change <none> to <local system> 

Save Change

Refresh the UI screen.
